Client: Walt Siegl
Project: Ducati Leggero Frame
This project involved the reverse engineering of a custom hand built motorcycle frame that Walt built off of a Ducati motor and was based on the style of old school cafe racers. We had to take a system of precise measurements to get the frame into Solidworks and to then have the parts cut, bent, and welded out of 4130 chromoly tubing for production. We utilized a newer Mazak 6 axis CNC tube laser to do all the coping, and then a CNC mandrel bender to form the tubing to the specified shape resulting in seamless joints that fit perfectly together. The parts were then TIG welded, finished and painted. This frame is not commercially available. We cannot provide drawings or data from this project.
